QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that the provincial government has succeeded in getting the approval of some mega development projects from the federal government.
Speaking at a programme here the other day, he said these uplift projects would bring about a positive change in the province.
The programme was organised by members of Mr Alyani’s Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) in his honour.
Mr Alyani, who is also the chief of the ruling BAP, said that his party would take part in the upcoming elections for local bodies on the basis of its performance.
He said the BAP-led provincial government with the cooperation of its coalition partners was making all-out efforts for solving problems of the province. He claimed that the provincial government’s budget for financial 2019-20 depicted the BAP’s election manifesto. All areas of the province had been given equal share in the Public Sector Development Programme, he added.
BAP’s founder Syed Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, provincial ministers Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Noor Mohammad Dummar and Mir Zia Langove, MPA Abdul Rasheed Baloch and party workers attended the programme.
Mr Alyani said that the provincial government had finalised a historic plan for the development of Quetta. He said his government was also giving special attention to the education and health sectors.
He said the BAP government would work also for those areas from where it did not win seats in the election.
He criticised the previous for making what he called hue and cry over the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said his government had allocated a huge fund in the budget for construction of the Quetta-Zhob highway.
