Vehicle launched to disinfect streets, roads of Attock district

TAXILA: Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qamar has launched a vehicle designed by the district administration to disinfect streets and roads of the district in order to prevent spread of the coronavirus.

Officials from the district administration, municipal committee and other departments were also present on the occasion.

Mr Qamar directed for the vehicle, called Mist Queen, to be kept on the roads round the clock so they could be properly disinfected. He said the steps taken by the Rescue 1122 staff, health officials and municipal staff were encouraging and appealed to people to continue taking precautionary measures.

Mr Qamar said that the vehicle was prepared at a low cost and steps were being taken to design more vehicles in the future.

Meanwhile in Hassanabdal, the local administration installed body sanitiser and hand washing facilities at public places to combat Covid-19. They have been set up on main roads and other central spots in the city.

“We have arranged water basins and soaps for hand washing in multiple areas,” said Assistant Commissioner Adnan Anjum Raja.

“People who have to leave their houses for different reasons, especially shopping for daily commodities or visiting a doctor, can wash their hands at these facilities,” he added.

He said that such facilities would be installed at every marketplace to control the epidemic. So far, there are two cases of Covid-19 in Hassanabdal.
