Rising Tensions on Pakistan-Afghanistan Border: 37 Soldiers Martyred as TTP Attacks Escalate

Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a dangerous peak as heavy cross-border clashes and a new wave of militant attacks by the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) shake the western front.

According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing (ISPR), the past few weeks have seen an alarming surge in violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where militants have carried out repeated assaults on security forces.

Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed that most terror incidents in the last three months occurred in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. During this period, 37 brave officers and soldiers embraced martyrdom in intelligence-based operations or militant ambushes.

The military confirmed that dozens of TTP fighters were eliminated in response, with several hideouts destroyed near the border.

Analysts warn that the escalating conflict could destabilize border regions and strain already tense diplomatic ties between Islamabad and Kabul, especially as Pakistan accuses Afghan-based groups of sheltering TTP militants.

Observers say the coming weeks will be crucial for Pakistan’s counter-terror strategy and regional peace efforts.
