PTI founder, Sheikh Rashid summoned in May 9 riots case

RAWALPINDI – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, former interior minister Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq have been summoned in May 9 violence case on Feb 6.

An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi heard the case against the PTI founder and Sheikh Rashid in May 9 riots. 

PTI candidate Ajmal Sabir from NA-53, former National Assembly member Sadaqat Abbasi, former National Assembly speaker Wasiq Qayyum, and Umar Tanveer Butt have become witnesses against the PTI founder and Sheikh Rashid in the case. 

Sadaqat Abbasi, Wasiq Qayyum and Tanveer Butt recorded their statements and stated that the May 9 riots were planned by the PTI founder, Sheikh Rashid, Raja Basharat, Rashid Shafiq, Ijaz Khan Jazi, and Rashad Hafeez.

PTI candidate from NA-53, Col Ajmal Sabir, has become a witness against Sheikh Rashid. He stated that the planning of May 9 riots was done at Sheikh Rashid’s residence Lal Haveli on May 6.
