PML-N seeks Yasmin’s resignation for ‘insulting’ Lahorites

Pakistan

LAHORE: PML-N Punjab Secretary Information Azma Bokhari demanded resignation of the Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid for calling Lahorites ‘jahil’ (illiterate).

Ms Bokhari said Dr Rashid had insulted the people of Lahore; therefore, she had no right to hold her office and she must resign forthwith.

Meanwhile, the PML-N has questioned the efficacy of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Insaf Health Card programme in the face of over 100 Covid deaths a day in the country and shortage of lifesaving medicines.

“Helplessness and chaos are reigning over all hospitals but Imran Niazi’s apathy, indifference and heartlessness know no bounds,” PML-N Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement here on Thursday.

“Imran must share with the nation how many coronavirus patients are being treated through the Insaf Health Card. Imran should fear the wrath of God and stop playing with the lives of the people of Pakistan.”

Ms Aurangzeb said the life-saving medicines for the coronavirus were becoming more and more expensive each day and were disappearing from the markets.

“What is the federal health minister doing? Imran is the federal health minister while a (pulse) oximeter, which costs in hundreds, is being sold for thousands.”

She said the ‘cheap chicken, egg, calves revolution,’ promised by Imran Khan, were needed now more than anything because the nation needed proteins.
