Pakistan’s first virtual fashion show ready to kick off tonight

With Covid-19 cancelling a lot of events – or as we say, cancelling 2020 – Frieha Altaf announced a virtual fashion show.

Called Catwalk Cares, the three day event is ready to kick off tonight.

Shared Frieha Altaf in a press release, “We were all prepared to proudly present Pakistan’s first ever virtual fashion week when the tragic air-jet disaster occurred which left the whole nation shaken. I felt there was no alternative but to postpone the event to pay respect to all those passengers and crew who tragically lost their lives that day including one of the brightest and promising supermodels, Zara Abid”

Previously she had told Images, “It has been a time to slow down and reflect… Like many other businesses, the fashion and retail industry has suffered. I see that the future is digital and at this time, Pakistani fashion needs to be united, come back stronger and be more creative. Virtual fashions weeks are going to be the new norm and my plan is to set the wheels in motion in Pakistan.”

“It is also a great way to keep the fashion industry alive and relevant to the current times and to form a global showcase for the future. Most importantly, this show will be an effort to give back to the frontliners that are battling against the coronavirus pandemic.”

Day one’s roster includes Amir Adnan, Huma Adnan, Khaadi, Maheen Karim, Nida Azwer and Shamaeel Ansari.
