Charsadda: A senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Maulana Abdul Salam, was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants near Hanif Petrol Pump on the Mandani–Takhthbhai Road within the jurisdiction of Mandani Police Station.
According to police reports, unidentified attackers opened fire on the cleric, killing him on the spot. Police said the incident is being investigated from multiple angles to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to Civil Hospital Jamalabad for post-mortem examination.
Maulana Abdul Salam was the administrator of Madrassa Abu Bakar Siddiq in Tehsil Tangi (Angar Bari Band) and a member of JUI’s provincial Shura.
