NEW YORK – The Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General has clarified that Shama Junejo, included in Pakistan’s delegation for the 80th General Assembly session, received her official badge from the United Nations at the request of Pakistan’s Permanent Mission.
UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq stated: “The individual in question received the official badge from the United Nations at the request of Pakistan’s Permanent Mission.”
He further added that seating arrangements inside the Security Council chamber are not managed by the UN Secretariat: “That question is for Pakistani authorities since we play no role in that regard.”
