Istanbul: A group of Muslim nations, including Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia, has called for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
The demand came during a joint meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers held in Turkey, where participating countries strongly condemned Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire.
Pakistan was represented at the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the participants discussed a collective strategy to ensure sustainable peace, reconstruction of Gaza, and Palestinian sovereignty.
In a joint statement, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, based on the pre-1967 borders.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that the Palestinian people must have full authority over their own affairs and security. He also revealed that Hamas leadership has expressed willingness to hand over Gaza’s administration to a joint Palestinian committee.
