Islamabad – The heart-wrenching story of Kiran began 17 years ago on a rainy day in Sector G-10, Islamabad, when 10-year-old Kiran stepped out of her home in search of ice cream. That day, she got her ice cream, but her childhood and family seemed to drift far away from her.
Kiran hails from a small village in Punjab’s Kasur district. Over the years, she spent much of her life away from her parents, siblings, and relatives, staying at Karachi’s Edhi Centre. Despite multiple attempts, efforts to locate her family had failed, and even her parents had almost lost hope of seeing her again.
However, despair turned into joy when Kiran was finally traced after 17 years, thanks to the Punjab Police’s Safe City Project. The initiative played a crucial role in reuniting her with her long-lost family, bringing an end to nearly two decades of separation.
