Karachi: Renowned Pakistani actor Zahid Ahmed has issued an apology and clarification following backlash over his controversial remarks made during a recent podcast appearance.
In a video statement posted on his Instagram account, Zahid Ahmed said his comments were misunderstood and that he spoke emotionally, using words that were inappropriate.
The actor clarified that his remarks were directed at the founders of social media platforms, not at digital content creators.
He admitted, “I called them people of hell, which was wrong. I regret it because I spoke out of emotion.”
Zahid further stated that deciding who goes to heaven or hell is not his right, as that is solely God’s domain.
He emphasized that he wanted to set the record straight, especially since many young people look up to him, and he did not wish to spread a misleading message about religion.
