New Delhi/Islamabad: Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has once again sparked regional tensions after hinting at the launch of “Operation Sindoor 2.0,” saying that this time India will act with “full military preparedness.”
Speaking at a recent event, General Dwivedi claimed that India’s previous actions under Operation Sindoor sent a strong message to “terror sponsors,” and warned that any further cross-border aggression would be met with a decisive response.
Analysts believe these statements are part of India’s pre-election rhetoric, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government often resorts to anti-Pakistan narratives before major state polls — particularly in Bihar.
The Indian Army Chief’s remarks, described by local media as a “clear warning,” have drawn sharp reactions from political and defense observers. They argue that such provocative language only deepens mistrust and risks destabilizing regional peace.
Meanwhile, Pakistani defense officials have reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any aggression, stating that any future conflict would see a “faster and fiercer” retaliation than before.
Security experts across South Asia have urged both nations to avoid escalating rhetoric and focus on diplomatic engagement to prevent another crisis.
